It's been a while since we've blogged - sorry about that! Busy times :)

So here's the latest!


The Worms are working hard in rehearsals for our New York adventure at CMJ Music Marathon later in the year. We're working on new material as well as identifying existing songs that need to be developed further and improved. With additional practises the development of our sound and musical communication is really exciting.

We're proud to announce that we've officially taken on a band manager - Shaun (Thorne as he is affectionately known) is now considered a member of the worm family. His business experience and passion for music are already proving to move Can of Worms in the right direction.

We're also excited to have a new toy which we're working with to create some awesome sound effects to explore and build up levels of sound in our tunes. "Paddy" (a Yamaha DTX percussion pad) is currently being loaded with a wealth of sounds by Shaun and Steve and will be making an appearance in our next gig I'm sure :)

At the end of 2015 we played an awesome gig supporting Desmond and the Tutu's at Chintsa's C Club. The gig was a very special way to end a successful year and we learnt a lot from the Tutu's whose style and stage presence were a real treat. The festival style gig was kicked off with local artist Charlie Finch who warmed up the evening as the sun set with his acoustic guitar and warm vocals. The worms then kicked off the party and got the crowd started before the Tutu's took the show away with their lively set. The crew from Dynamic Sounds were really impressive getting the set-up just right for all artists.

2016 has seen some challenges for the worm-family but our commitment to the process of improvement, developing our music and engaging creativity in all of our band members is starting to shine through the rough times. We kicked off the year with a private party earlier this month followed by a kick ass gig last night at our favourite spot The C Club. The awesome, dancing, crazy crowd were a real treat (literally the dance floor was pumping so hard I had to hold my mic stand straight with my foot!).
