Lekapella Goes Viral on Social Media

Can of Worms video post at band practice on Thursday night has gone viral. It features the band creating a "lekapella" version of our newest song Last Ship Home and was posted to instagram and facebook; the facebook post received over 1000 views in under 24 hours! But what is lekapella?

Lekapella

Lekapella is a term created by Can of Worms (on Thursday evening at band practice) referring to the act of recreating a song vocally that would normally be played on instruments... while playing tiny "air" instruments, with a group of great friends.

The term is a combination of the Italian term A cappella which refers to music that is specifically group or solo singing without instrumental accompaniment, and the Afrikaans phrase "lekker pel" or "good pal".

So... if you're sitting around one evening at band practice and you need some inspiration... why not give it a go? Be sure to upload and tag your #lekapella for everyone to enjoy!
